No! No! No!

There we go again.....challenging the restraints of modern times. We could not resist the opportunity this sign gave us to be civilly disobedient as the sign is place just a hop and a skip down the road from the "Western Whitehouse" near Crawford, TX. Couldn't help but wonder if someone was taking our pictures at the same time as we were taking these. We were careful though....no fingerprints left behind!

My other blog...

Yesterday I began a new (additional) blogging endeavor. I started a blog called "Books, libraries, and more by shadylady". The name is a dead give away of course as to its nature.....

Christmas lights...

Christmas lights! Saturday night we took my parents to see Christmas lights. We started the evening at Cici's Pizza which is my mothers favorite place to eat. Then we drove out to McKinney. Just west of Hwy 75 and north off Eldorado is a well lit neighborhood surrounding a county club. Many of the streets have themes to link the decorations from house to house. We then proceeded west on Eldorado to Frisco. This boom town has a fairly new and large town square which has been lit with millions of lights, or so it seems. The lights are rigged to "dance" to Christmas music which can be heard on a specific radio station as you drive around. The music can also be heard while strolling the sidewalks. We stopped and strolled awhile. It was a great evening!

I have loved Christmas lights forever. I fondly remember from childhood the annual decorating of the tree in the middle of our cul-de-sac followed by a party with the neighbors. Nearby another longer cul-de-sac was renamed Candy Cane Lane each December with decoations to match.

Someday, my own home will be decorated for others to enjoy....

Withdrawals...

Withdrawal....not fun. For more than five weeks I took hydrocodone for pain from my broken wrist. The dose was tapered off during the last couple off weeks. I had always heard that hydrocodone (Vicadin) is addictive....now I have experienced part of that. While I had no problem actually quitting it, I definitely experienced withdrawal symptoms. At first I just thought I was having a bad cold with muscle aches, fever, runny nose, and chills while getting use to no happy pill. After a couple of days I decided to check out the withdrawal symptoms online. I had no cold apparently but was going through withdrawal in all its undignified glory. I think the worse is over now....as long as I can handle the pain of physical therapy....
